Named after the gorgeous Acadia National Park in Maine, Acadia is an absolutely beautiful, custom designed 2-ply blend of 60% merino, 20% baby alpaca and 20% silk. Every year when we go to our trade show to curate our new collection, we hope to find something new and exciting. This year, Acadia was our winner. It has all the characteristics that we look for in a yarn. 

The silk has some slubbed silk noil, creating a slightly tweedy effect. We love a subtle texture to a yarn. Like its sister, Road to China, the depth of color is mesmerizing. In order to create an additional level of depth and tone, the baby alpaca used is a dark brown, and then the heathered yarn (in fact, the blend created a grey tone) is overdyed in the duotones Fibre Company is known for, creating a yarn with incredible softness and depth of color. Equally important is the hand of a fiber, which was fantastic as well.  Great texture, spectacular color, velvet in touch. We hope you enjoy this yarn as much as we do.
